After 21 years of marriage, Paula says she plans to divorce her husband, Jeremy, because – in her own words – “he’s distraught, absent and non-verbal.” But Jeremy says the real problem is Paula. He claims that she is in control, that she holds a grudge and that she will not pass after a mistake he made almost ten years ago. Jeremy, a former military man, says he was on a training mission in Las Vegas a decade ago when he ended up going to a brothel after consuming too much alcohol one night. “I don’t remember going to the brothel, and I don’t remember what happened at the brothel,” he says. I just know I was there, and it was charged to my credit card. Several weeks later, Paula, who oversees the family’s finances, discovered the charge. “I don’t blame him anymore,” she said. “However, it had a big impact on the trust in our marriage. Paula and Jeremy have both recognized that there has been an intimacy issue in their marriage for years.
